Inching Along is a board game by Educational Insights for children ages 5+. This great game comes with a fun bright green ruler which children use to practice measuring printed lines on the game board. These measurements determine how many places the player moves along
the 75 space trail. Players draw a card on their turn to discover what line(s) to measure on their turn. The cards are color coded for three different levels of play. Red cards are the most basic level where the player practices measuring a single line. With the intermediate level green cards players take two or three measurements and then add or subtract them. The highest skill level are the (3) blue cards where players multiply their measurement by 2 or 3.
Gretchen Thinks: “I like Inching Along because I can learn measurements. Now I know how much 12 inches is! I also like doing the math with measurements.” (Age 6)
Walter Says: “I like Inching Along because I can use a ruler to measure the lines and add or subtract the measurements that I get. I also like that sometimes you go forwards and sometimes you go backwards on your turn.” (Age 8)
Daddy Declares: “I enjoy using this game to teach my children how to measure with a ruler. The measuring skills practiced are very transferrable to our family building projects. I really like when my children let me be the little teddy bear.”
